December always feels a little extra magical — not just because it’s the season of Advent and Christmas, but because it’s the month I get to travel and share the JOY of handbells with new audience overseas. Every trip feels like a Christmas gift. The plane rides together with my MOB team mates, the airport hustle, the rehearsals leading up, rehearsing in familiar & unfamiliar halls… somehow all of it becomes part of a sacred rhythm that I’ve grown to love.
As a handbell ringer, travelling to perform is more than just moving from one place to another. It’s stepping into new spaces with the intention to bless, to pour out, and to let God’s presence flow through music. Some trips feel nostalgic, some feel like fresh encounters..
This year’s December tour feels especially meaningful. Maybe it’s the season I’m in, maybe it’s the people I get to ring with and for, or maybe it’s simply the joy of celebrating Jesus’ birth through music that rings and resonates. Whatever it is, I’m grateful.
