LIPA – Week 10

21 Nov 2011:

Gig @ The Chameleon Club with Orian and Band. Today’s set was good, it was lively, partially because the stage lightings were really low and we didn’t have to be overly presentation-stressed. Still, it had a good turnout. Quite a number of our friends/classmates came down to support. Musically improving as a band as well.

 

22 Nov 2011:

Rehearsal with Gemma & Band for Friday’s gig on The 2ube. Set list consist of 2 songs + 1 cover solo by Gemma.

 

23 Nov 2011:

Rehearsal with Robert Mulder and friends. Ran through the set list for Sat’s gig at Heebie Jeebies’. We also spoke about the possibility of touring Canada in Summer 2012. Really exciting stuff.

Received a text late night, playing at “The Brink” tmr as well. 3 gigs tmr. wow.

 

25 Nov 2011:

Crazy evening. 3 gigs, 3 venues 3 different bands!

Gemma Dunlovely on The 2ube – This week is live broadcast week on Bobcom. Had a few glitches. We were told by the techies that we could only play with half the band?! Because they didn’t have enough channels on the mixer. Then, at the start of the gig, Gemma did not switch off her guitar tuner so she was playing acoustically from the guitar! Dan saved the day when he switched it on at the right time, after the verse. But we got through to the end.

 

Orian Peled acoustic set at The Beer House – Amazing gig with just Orian, Obadiah and myself. Glad to be involved in this, new venue, gd experience.

 

Robert Mulder @ The Brink (headline) – Ended the night with a bang, had an awesome audience and set. Performed “Teenage Zombie” for the first time today. Not very confident yet I would say. Will work on it the next reh!

Recording percussion SFX for 3rd year music production student, Veslemoy had 3 electronic-ish tracks. I played a range of percussion instruments from proper rhythms to just scraping and shaking!
