MPP1 Journal 3

2 Nov 2011: Had a great rehearsal with Robert Mulder and band today with Alec Brits on drums. We were doing the old stuff to get familiarised with Alec’s playing. Comments from Steph Marziano was that we were grooving better today since the last time she saw us on The 2ube.

Practiced some drums this afternoon as well.

Haven’t felt this accomplished since “The Titanic Musical”.

 

4 Nov 2011:

Self Prac –

– Drums: Practiced some vintage Elvis Presley songs, rudiments and 12-beat pop.

– Vibraphone: Continued practicing modes and the tempo exercise set by Steve Barry during improv lesson last Tue.

 

Rehearsal –

– Had a vocal session with Orian and Eunji to work on the backing vocals for Orian’s gig on The 2ube next Friday (11Nov11).

– Also had my first rehearsal with Flo and her band consisting on Jack, Laura, Sanna and Charlotte. I like Flo’s compositions, she’s got great melody lines. We could possibly work on the arrangements and X factor of her songs to make it more outstanding.

 

5 Nov 2011:

Had a productive rehearsal form 2pm-4pm with Orian and the band. Did 2 new songs. 1 about money and the other is a cover song including a rap with Eunji on it! Something new to me.
