27 Oct 2011: After 3 days of rehearsal, I had my first gig outside LIPA today at “The Brink” at Parr Street. It was an acoustic set consisting of an acoustic guitar, electric bass, cajon (box drum), vocalist, backup vocalist and myself as the percussionist (glockenspiel, cowbell, melodica, triangle, shaker). The place was rather echo-y and because there were no monitors on stage, I could barely hear the bass. During the rehearsal, I suggested a number of things to make Orian’s songs sound more musical such as inserting some musical breaks (see video).
There were feedbacks from friends in the audience that they loved the cowbell solo that I did.
